Occupational License Requirement
Required for all contractors and businesses performing work in Port Allen
What is a Port Allen Occupational License (OLT)?

The Occupational License Tax (OLT) is an annual license required by the City of Port Allen for every person or business performing work or operating within city limits. It is separate from your state contractor license and separate from any license you may hold with West Baton Rouge Parish — those do not satisfy this requirement. The OLT is due January 1 each year. New businesses pay on the day they begin operating. The fee is $50.00 for January through June, and $25.00 for July through December. Licenses become delinquent after March 1 — a 5% per month penalty plus 1% monthly interest applies. To obtain or renew your OLT, contact City Hall at (225) 346-5670 or visit our OLT portal.
